We moved to the New Year 2015 and it is always great to have some flashback, don’t you think? When I changed my diet from Paleo to raw food several months ago, no one from my closes friends or family members trust, that on the new form of life style I could be able to do the same activities, looks and feel great, do the same sports as before or more over increase my weight.
I lost a lot of weight from the beginning and I wanted to have it back. In the first couple of weeks my weight on raw food was moving around 60 – 61 kg. The thing is, that regardless what my weigh was I felt incredible great and I knew this new life style will literally blow my mind (this will got me). But in order I could be more satisfied with myself I wanted to increase my weight as well. Not just for me, but also for my closes friends and family members (later this became a little challenge as well). My philosophy is, my point of view, the man point of view regarding raw food that raw food is not just about losing the weight or dessert preparation. Who had a chance to read my story (About Rawman – Daniel) who was checking my progress (12: MUSCLE AND WEIGHT GROWTH ON RAW FOOD: 5 MONTH PROGRESS or 7 MONTH PROGRESS) know that for 2014 I set up a goal to increase my weight up to 65kg and keep my body fat under 12%. It means gain muscle mass around 4 – 5 kg. And result? I made it!
When I measured myself last time (before end of the year 2014) my weight was exactly 143,6 lb = 65,1 kg. But wait a minute – one struggle. Current body fat % – 13.6. Because I measured myself only by Bioelectrical impedance (and also after training, which affected negatively the result of body fat %) the result was not so occur. However the result is still not as I would like and I need to focus on it more deeply. Regardless this situation didn’t stop me from celebration. I had to congratulate myself, well done Daniel!

So lets move to the New Year 2015 !
But there is not place for laziness. Just for the reason of new year 2015 and new resolutions. So why I will not thing about improvement again and try to increase my weight from 65 to 70 kg in next 6 months? Also finally decrease my body fat to required value. So what? Let´s do this! But wait a minute, why I should do it? It is not enough what I already accomplished? Well, the truth is during the time of training and progressing I was training hard and I felt in love to crossfit, which is more and more popular in the world. I liked again lifting the weights and increasing the amount of pounds. So I was thinking about it and I decided to focus on crossfit trainings more in 2015. With heavier weights probably my weight will increase as well. To be honest I will not be against that. And maybe, you never know, there will be some competition right? But it is too far right now…so heads up and lets do this!
WHAT INFLUENCED ME AND WHAT WAS MY STRATEGY?
But…my accomplishment in 2014 wasn’t just like that. It didn’t come along over the night and what I should be grateful? Would you like to know what helped me and what was my strategy?
The biggest influence had definitely the place and people which surrounded me. In the beginning of 2014 we moved to Canada, especially to Vancouver. Vancouver is the place, where to be fit is literally national sport and I would say vegetarians, vegans or raw food life style have totally different role than in Czech Republic. There are a lot of people who achieved great results in regards of sport on vegan or raw food diet. And this inspired me a lot. What else? People are proud on to be vegan, vegetarian and they always support you to continue with your non-conventional life style. They understand the reason of right diet or the existence of organic / bio products. To change my life style and get rid of the animal products was thanks to this much easier.
2) LOVELY ANDREA
My Rawoman Andrea. Thanks to her and her passion in raw food including rich experience in raw food restaurant where she worked (Cafe By Tao (http://taoorganics.com/) I always believed in myself and never let me down. Basically she created 80% of our meal plan and portions which I always got helped me to keep right amount of daily food intake (calories, proteins, carbs., fats). I read countless of blogs, articles or books, listened a lot of podcasts or saw many videos or movies focused on vegan life style, raw food and sport. I was literally hungry for information and my journey was lined with trials and fails. I was also very lucky I met a lot of great people in person which could inspired me or connect with them over the internet – for example I had a chance to exchange few private messages with Peter Ragnar himself. Here are some of the books which influenced me at most.
4) TRAININGS AND PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE
Thanks to the situation that I was able to work in fitness center I was in touch with people in phenomenal shape (even there was a trainer who was the world champion of bodybuilding for 2012, 2013 and 2014). I was always very close to great information, professional consultation and support. Integral part of it were definitely trainings with Marek Urbanovsky who introduced me to mentioned crossfit. This was one of the best experience in 2014 for sure. After his trainings I literally wasn’t able to walk the most of the time. No pain no gain, right?
5) TREATMENT PLAN – CHECK OUT THE PLAN HERE !
Professional consultation and treatment plan in Naturopathic clinic Dr. Aaron Wong, ND. The more raw food I ate more problems I had with digestion (according what I read about this symptom is quite common when you start on raw food, especially in the beginning). When you want to increase the weight and you eat 5kg of salad and digest a half it really doesn’t make sense right? Moreover it is not good for your digestive system and not to mention the economic aspect. Because Andrea never had these problems it was obvious that something wrong is with me. I decided to meet the Dr. Wong who was recognized expert in the field and what else? He was vegan. So I hadn’t waste my time with explanation why I don’t eat any animal products (I wish to have these clinics in Czech Republic). However thanks to one test which we made – acid stomach challenge (which should check your stomach acidity) we found out that my stomach is weak and is not able to digest the raw food properly. My treatment plan has started (note, without any medicaments). The plan contained from meal strategies, massages and right combination of food. Because my treatment plan was successfully accomplished as well I am going to share with you in next few days mentioned plan.
According what I wrote about it is obvious, that my accomplishment wasn’t so easy and it didn’t happened over the night When I look at it just because I changed my diet from Paleo to raw food I obtained huge amount of experiences. I am sure that without this change in my life and my journey I would never ever got so much in 2014 – about life style, sport and about myself. For a 2014 it was definitely one of the best decision in my life. So if there is anyone who just started on raw food or who is thinking about it…go for it!
