32: HIGH PROTEIN RAW MEAL OF THE WEEK: SPIRULINA PUDDING INSPIRED BY RICH ROLL – FRESHWATER ALGAE PROTEIN BOMB !

Do you know spirulina? It is again another great superfood which should be a part of each meal plan…but that taste, right? Hmmm, just imagine the taste of spirlina, imagine your nearest forest lake, just take a little bit of the pure forest lake water and make a pudding from it, wow?! No way! No worries, this recipe will be quite different. If you have like me a problem with the taste or smell of spirulina you should sit and calm down right now. Because this “inconvenience thing” has been solved by one awesome person, ultra marathoner, triathlete and vegan named Rich Roll. After reading this post your life will not be the same anymore, because you just add few ingredients and push one button on your blender and spirulina become literally delicious dessert.
I read about this recipe in one of my favorite book by Tim Ferris – 4 – Hour Body, where he mentioned Rich Roll in regards of vegetarian theme. Rich Roll is also a famous athlete and literally my model of the living proof, that everybody can achieve everything anytime. In regards of Rich I can recommend you a great book – Finding Ultra or to listen his podcasts.

And why you should add spirulina into your diet plan? Well all the features of spirulina have to amaze you. This happened to me. Literally I could write whole article just about this incredible superfood but this is not a purpose of this post. What I would mention be that spirulina is great source of protein (65%) and all essential amino acids. Is also source of countless of vitamins (B, B12, A, C) and minerals (for example 10g of spirulina has same amount of iron as you can find in 450g of spinach). I like spirulina also for antioxidant reason and same as chlorella helps reduce cellular damage caused by free radicals produced by vehicle emissions. If you live or if you spend some time in polluted air, take at least 1 tsp of chlorella per day as a daily body detoxifier. For example me and Andrea live now in Bali which is crazy in regards of “urban” traffic when you are in the center of cities, so daily dose of spirulina really comes in handy. Did you know, that people whose travelling into the places which are highly pollued (eg. in large cities in China) consume higher amounts of spirulina or chlorella? Finally spirulina helps digestion and does not burden the digestive tract. Now I wonder, that the spirulina could be very easily replaced by chlorella in this recipe as well! So why don’t you try it and give me a comment whether it was good idea or not :-)
