44: MACA MATCHA? GREEN “COFFEE” WHICH WILL SHOOT YOU RIGHT TO THE STARTS. – HOWEVER WATCH OUT FOR THE BIOLOGICAL DEFICIT !

So you like coffee…but you do not like the fact that it is not raw. I personally always loved coffee. I was able to drink 3-4 cups per day but once I started to be interested in raw lifestyle, I slowly decreased my coffee intake. Nowadays I only drink coffee on special occasions, for instance when I find an interesting coffee house or I find some special coffee on the menu (Such situation happened a little while ago when we found a coffeehouse called „U Růženky“, which is located in Bystřica pod Hostýnem – http://www.uruzenky.cz . The site is currently under maintenance but please be aware that the coffeehouse is open and awaiting your visit. Feel free to order Bio coffee, which we enjoyed very much.)

Anyways, even though that I only drink coffee rarely I always disliked the fact that my organism is extremely dehydrated in just a few minutes and that my digestion is not the best. I was always disappointed that the only good warm drink which will boost my energy is coffee. Well at least I thought so…but only until a moment I tasted “MacaMatcha”

SO WHAT IS MACA MATCHA?
I call it a green “coffee” due to the fact that it is a warm drink that will boost your energy so much you’ll feel like you are right where the stars are:-). Those who know green Matcha tea are probably not surprised right now, but the combination with the Peruvian her called Maca will bring you and unusual experience. This combination will not dehydrate you like the coffee would, plus the energy you’ll get will last for more than just a few minutes. I would say it lasts for a few hours. If I drink MacaMatcha in the morning (as a pre-workout) I usually hit my personal records. It is needless to say that Maca, same as Matcha contains great nutritional values which are very beneficial for you organism.

Recipe:
2-3 dcl almond/coconut milk (sweetened with dates)
1 teaspoon of Matcha powder
1 teaspoon of Maca powder

However, BEWARE of the biological deficit:
For some time I drank MacaMatcha every day for about 14 days and I realized that the drink gave me less and less energy. It is needless to say that I did not enjoy the drink as much as I used to. It is also important to mention that when I did not drink MacaMatcha I had these huge headaches and I was tired all the time. I understand that when a person drinks more and more coffee, it gives him less and less energy. Why is it like that though? I have read a book by Brendan Brazier –Vegan in top form – The Thrive Diet) and he called the situation when coffee gives you less and less energy a „biological deficit“. It is basically a process of your body being tired once the energy wears off. This process happens mostly once you drink a coffee or consume refined sugar.

2 TYPES OF ENERGY
Brendan further describes that there are two types of energy – 1. Energy gained by stimulation and 2nd energy gained from nutrition. The first type is the energy you get from a coffee or processed foods. The more the food is processed, the higher the impact will be on your nerve system, however lower impact when it comes to nutrition. In case of raw food, it is a complete opposite. Plus the processed food and coffee boost the level of Cortisol (stress hormone) in your body. Ironically, this makes the so called “Energy drinks” the biggest killers of your energy. In case you are an athlete, it is fine to use such stimulant every now and then (1x a week/month) but it should not become a habit.

DO NOT OVERDO THE SHOTS OF MACA MATCHA !

I could write the whole article about this topic; however, that is not the intention of this article. I just want to point out that the more stimulants we will use (coffee, also Matcha tea), the less energy we’ll have (feeling of being tired in the morning, afternoon etc.) Therefore, I would advise you to enjoy raw food, which is not processed (or only slightly processed), which will not give you that instant boost of energy, but will give you appropriate level of energy for the 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, just like it does for me and Andy. So give a shot to MacaMatcha but do not overdo it :-)
